Runtime Error in outlook

Whenever I try to open or reply to an email in Outlook, I
get an error that reads:
microsoft visual c++ runtime library
runtime error!
Program C:\Program Files\Microsoft
Office\Office\OUTLOOK.EXE"
abnormal program termination

I am running Windows and Office 2000. Any idea what is
causing this and how to fix it?
