Save As reduces file size

When I was having a network problem I saved my ~3MB project schedule to my
local drive using 'Save As'. After the save was complete I noticed the file
size reduced to ~2MB. I compared the files and they looked like they
contained the same tasks. Why the reduction in size? What didn't get saved?
I do use macros, but the save as also has them in it.

When Saving As Project cleans some unnecessary data.

What type of data does not get saved? I am trying to determine if I should
make my changes to the original network project schedule or if I should move
my the local version (smaller one) to the network.

Didn't I write "unnecessary data"?
I mean what I write.
Unnecssary lmeanns bogus, things that should be eliminated.
You better use the reduced file
