Save history

Does anyone know of a way to obtain save and/or revision history for a
project file? Is there a query I can perform from SQL to obtain this
information after the fact?

I can probably use macros to record, on close of application, but I lose all
history from before.

Welcome to this Microsoft Project newsgroup

You can't do this within Project, though you could use the Compare Projects
add on.
