save image as jpeg in microsoft office document scanning.

It is amazing to me, that a $500.00 program does not offer the ability to
save a scanned image as a jpeg, the most common format used. I had to install
MS photo draw (2000) in order to achieve that ability.

On my ME machine(the imaging program don't work on my XP) I save the TIF file
and then use irfanview to save it in other formats, including jpeg. But you
are correct, you would think that you would be able to save in at least jpeg.

Since "Microsoft Office Document Imaging" was intended to support the
scanning and conversion of paper documents into electronic documents AND
tiff is the favored format for "imaged document" document handling
that is what is used NOT jpg, which is for "pictures". If you want to
play with pictures then use the appropriate software, which is provided.
