Hi

Select file -> save as -> jpg (you will have to scroll down the list) ->
save present slide or all slides (it will put them all in a folder). Is that
what you mean?

Hi Lucy. Thank you for your reply. I know this question is basic - but when
submitting my work pieces a while back - I was asked to save them as
individual Thumbnails. They each feature in their own folder vs listing
together in one folder. I just don't recall how I did this. -

Hi RJ

One man's basic is another man's advanced :)
I'm struggling a wee bit to understand here - could you answer the following:
1. What version of powerpoint are you using?
2. Do you have many ppts or one ppt?
3. Does each ppt contain many slides or one slide?
4. The 'client' wants one picture of each slide in its own folder and no
actual ppts? Or do they want to be able to preview the ppt before opeing it?
5. How many slides are we talking about?

No. 4 is the important one that I'm struggling to get my head around - the
clearer you explain (for the benefit of we blondes) the more likely we'll be
able to help :)

Agreed. -

Following your question Lucy:
- When I set up these Thumbnails in the past I used PP2000. Now I use PP2003.
- I have only a few PP Items to Thumbnail.
- Each item is an individual item or slide. No multiples.
- Client requested they be sent as individual images/Thumbnails. Probably
to preview the items before opening them, which is more efficent for
selection and showing. I have some of the Thumbnails from that time and the
items preview on the resepctive folder cover.
- I am working with only a few individual items.

I am Blonde also, and regret I do not recall this simple task. I don't need
to do anything clever or complicated - except get my memory back on how I did
this!

Thank you for your help with this. RJ

Hi RJ

In File -> Properties -> Summary -> tick Save preview picture. Now in
windows explorer change your view to Thumbnails and you get little pics of
the first slide of each ppt, or if it's a folder the first 4 items in that
folder. If the image is 'jaggy' see here as apparently things have changed
since 2000: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/823813/en-us

If that isn't what you mean I don't know of any way other than saving as jpg
and then organising the folders yourself. Someone else may know a better way
:)

Hello Lucy. Thank your very much for the information. Saving the pieces as
individual JPEGs may be the course. I will play with it and try to rebirth
what I did before.

- Not remembering everything is a sign of intelligence, you know. A very
busy mind records new information over the old. And most Women think an
average of 20 different thoughts - at the same time. Maybe some index cards
would be of service.

Enjoy the rest of the week and thank you again.
