saved .pub files won't open

I just purchased Publisher last month. When I go to open a file that I have
saved the computer says it can't open it. The icon is there, but I am unable
to open it.

I'm sorry I'm not sure what you mean by activating it?

Specifically what error message are you getting?

First is says "Publisher cannot find the file you specified". Then it
directs me to my documents to look. I click on the file and it says
"Publisher cannot open the file".
