Saving a Word Document to Publisher

Steve

I am new to Publisher. I want to convert my Word 2003 document to Publisher
2007 so I can later send this file to a printer for printing as a hard copy
book. How do I do this?

Is Publisher capable of serving as a file for a printer to print in hard
copy book form?

Also, can I later go from Publisher 2007 to Word 2003 if I so desire.

My Word document is a book with color pictures already inserted. Are my
pictures going to be screwed up?

Is there a Publisher template I might use to insert my Word file into it?

Is there a reference you might recommend to educate me a bit more on using
Publisher as a form that can serve to later print a book?

Thanks,

My printer accepts Publisher files but yours may not. You need to ask before
you do anything else.

Long documents are best done in Word. Publisher is a text box application, all
boxes have to be linked.

That said, Page setup, booklet. Publisher will ask about three more pages, click
yes. Arrange, layout guides, set your margins. Create a text box on the page you
want your story to start, right-click the text box, click *change text*, click
*text file* browse to your Word file. Publisher will create pages and text
boxes. You will have to do some adjusting to get your images where you want
them. Unlike Word, images in Publisher stay where you put them.

There is an inline option in the format tab.

No matter which way you go, Publisher to Word or Word to Publisher you will lose
formatting. Word is a powerful word processing application with all the bells
and whistles. Publisher is a Desktop Publishing application. Each has its own
unique features.
