saving and printing take forever

I use Publisher for almost everything and I love the
program but it takes forever to print and/or save large
files. I mean large as in 8, 10, to 16 pages sometimes!
I have used pagemaker and do not care for it but it is
much faster in these two areas. Is there anyway I can
make Publisher work faster or is it something I am doing
wrong? Any suggestions please. Thank you.

How about you tell us what version of Windows and Publisher you are using.

Saving should be nearly instantaneous, and sixteen pages is nothing.

Printing can at times take a while, but that depends on the content and
complexity of layout.
