Saving Files in Numerical Order

Carla

How do you set-up viewing saved files in numerical order.
For instance, the files are saved as PN 100, PN 1001, etc.
I chose the View, List and the files are listed 1001,
1002, 1003, 101, etc. How can I get them to be displayed
numerically?

Thanks for your help!!

You'll have to add leading zeroes to the ones with lower numbers: 0001,
0010, 0100, 1000.

You have to format the numbers so they will sort alphabetically. Always use
the same number of digits, with leading zeros as necessary: PN 0100 etc.

Hi Carla,

And you have to be prepared to rename all of them again when you upgrade to
Windows XP, because that sorts them "PN 100, PN 101, PN1001, PN 1002, ...".

Shucks, sorry for the silly post. Of course they'll still sort fine with
leading zeros.

Time to start into the weekend...
