Saving files

In older versions of Word, you could have several documents open and minimize
one to work on another. However in Word 2003, there is only an X in the
upper right corner so your only option is to close the file in order to work
on another open file. Is there a way to set this differently?

Also, in the older versions, you could click on the X in the upper right
corner and close all open documents when you exited. It stopped at documents
you had not saved and asked if you wanted to save them then, but went through
all of them very quickly. In Word 2003 I am having to close each document
individually. Is there a way to change this setting?

Hello there,

You need to go to Tools + Options + View tab. Uncheck
the "Windows in Taskbar" at the top right.

This will solve both of the problems.

Hope this helps

In Word 2000 and above, each document opens in a separate window. The
control buttons on the window are the controls for the document. Use the
Minimize button on the window to minimize the document.
