Saving Word Documet

Fred

There is no option for me to "save" or "save as" under file in word document.
My version is:
OS Name Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Version 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2 Build 2600

When I click on File, I only have three options:
New
Print
Save To

Hi Fred

Try re-setting the Menu Bar. To do that, Tools > Customize. On the Toolbars
tab, tick "Menu Bar". Click Reset. Note that resetting the menu bar will
delete any customizations you have made to the menu.

If that doesn't work, try the steps in the following article:
My menus and toolbars are missing and won't come back
http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/AppErrors/MissngMenusEtc.htm

I'm also wondering whether you're opening a document from a web site, and
seeing the Word plug-in, rather than "real" Word. To change your settings,
see
How do I control how a Word document opens from the internet or an intranet?

Hope this helps.

Fred,

You might have those options hidden.
To unhide them:

- Go to Tools > Customize > Commands tab;
- In the Customize window, ensure that 'Normal' is selected in the Save in
drop-down menu;
- Under Categories, click File;
- Click the File menu;
- Under Commands, scroll until you see Save, Save as ... etc;
- Drag the items you want to add to the File menu; and finally
- When you have finished, click the Close button.
