Say "NO" to Windows Office - Try OpenOffice

C

Chris Schatte

The reason we are here is to learn from and contribute to the Office group, fully implement our software that we have invested in and then make money from $ spent
Basic investment concept for home or office user
OO/Star Office users etc, are now learning that you cannot always work for "free"....

I believe that is a result of expecting someone else to do all of your
thinking for you. Rather returning to the learning curve issue where you
actually have to put some effort into the project to expect anything to
happen in a productive manner.

I will continue to use MS business related products and just as astudiously
help others with less demanding needs utilize the more practical and
economical alternatives.

I am still wondering why the complaints on learning OO. I have provided at
least 250 copies of it to folks who are pleased to have it made available
and quite at ease with using it.

Thank you

Why is this woman telling us about linux and her smartsuite. I couldn't care

Um, this is a forum to get assistance with Microsoft Office, not Oo_O or

appropriate to the product being extolled.

This is not one of them.

I use Oo_O on my Linux machine (Mandrake 9.x) and find it severely lacking
from my expectations of what an office suite should be. Even my old Lotus
SmartSuite (1999?) does things a LOT better than that program. It has a
LONG way to go for anyone who does more than prepare a simple document or
uses a simple list in a spreadsheet.

And, as I said, the lack of a PIM is a major drawback. Put in a hook to
Evolution (probably not possible now that Novell owns it) and you might
approach 25% of the functionality already existing in Microsoft Office 97.

Why is this woman telling us about linux and her smartsuite. I couldn't care
less and she should refrain from posting on this newsgroup her experiences of
fringe packages. she knows it well (or ought to know it) that this is a MS
hosted newsgroup dealing with Ms' products.

This woman (Milly) has seriously lost her marbles! First she started to tell somebody
off for discussing Open Office but then she continued to elaborate on her bedroom habits
such as Lotus position and what not. Thank god she didn't discuss position 69!

Now she wants to use the F word in her cryptic ROTFL. Is she so lonely that she
has to antagonise users of this newsgroup?

ROTFL is a Usenet abbreviation (acronym?) for Rolling On The Floor Laughing.

| Why is this woman telling us about linux and her smartsuite. I couldn't
care
| less and she should refrain from posting on this newsgroup her experiences
of
| fringe packages. she knows it well (or ought to know it) that this is a
MS

This is not one of them.

I understand your reaction but I wanted to have this groups opinion.
At the office I use the MS Office Pack and don't deny that these
programs are good.
