Scanning into OneNote crops too much on edges

I'm using the Insert>Picture from Scanner to control both a NeatReceipts
TWAIN sheet scanner and an HP g85 all-in-one to scan documents of multiple
sizes up to 8.5x11. With both scanners, I find the edges of documents are
getting cut off more than I would expect. That is, in some cases scanning an
8.5x11 sheet, an entire inch or more gets cut off on the side. I can see
losing something like 1/4 inch on all sides, but this seems too extreme. It's
definitely enough that I lose information on virtually every scan. Any way to
adjust or fix this? Thanks!

Ditto for me, except I am losing the top 1-2 inches of every document. This
is a pain. A workaround that I have found is scanning the document to the
computer as a PDF, opening the PDF, and using the "print to one note"
feature. The document appears uncropped, but may be reduced in size.

I would love to find out how to fix this.

I use an Epson RX500 scanner with ON fairly often, and if I use the twain
driver with a custom prescan/manual area select it works fine everytime. If
I do not, it cuts off the image. I cannot say if this is your problem, but
in mine it appears to be the twain driver that is cutting off the document
edges, failing to correctly determine the paper edges.
