Schedule Template w/ Customized Sub Menu's

I am in the process of rolling out a MS Project template to our company
(however, it does not necessarily have to be a .mpt file). I have created
customized menu's & sub menu's on my local machine, but would like to include
them as part of the template such that when any user opens the file on their
local machine, they have the customized menu's. The assumption here is that
people are not that good w/ Project, so I don't want to have them creating
the customized menu's on their own.

How can I do this? Thanks!

Hi,

Here are your options:

- You send a global.mpt with the menus in it
- You send them in a file and teach them to use the organizer to copy them
to global.mpt
- You send them in a file that has an auto_open macro to do the copying to
global.mpt automatically.

Thanks Jan. Do you have a link or any more info on trying to do this? I
have tried a few things, but am having no luck! Thanks!

Which option would you like me to comment on?
I have experience with all of them.

Hi,

Considering that, I recommend sending a global.mpt file and ask them to
replace theirs (most people know about the search operation).
You will have to make sure that all menus etc. exist in that global file.
The only drawback is that if they have themselves made global changed, tehse
will be lost, but in a "novice" environment that is rare.
