Search in Front Page

I am using Front Page 2003
I am now in charge of updating and maintaining our Intranet. The gentleman
that created the Intranet is no longer with us. We have a lot of drawings
from various customers on the Intranet. They are all located in one
directory (drawings) by customer name. Each customer name may have anywhere
from 1 to 50 drawings in their directory. The creater had a search field
that you could find any drawing you wanted by simply typing in the drawing
number and/or part of the drawing number with a wild card (*). This search
field brought up the "LINK" to all files that met the search requirements
from the Drawing Directory. I remember when I first started updating the
Intranet, I tried to look at how he had done various things. I remember
noticing that the search field appeared to be connected to another file that
began with "vt_____". If I remember correctly, I found this file in the
private directory.

A month or two ago, this searchfield stopped working. I tried to recreate
it by following the instructions in the help directory. This created a
search field but would only tell what directories to look at including all
directories that had numbers in them. My IT department has not been able to
help us at all. This search field is very important to us. Can anyone tell
me how to create a search field that will find the actual drawings we are
looking for or at least point me in the right direction to find help
somewhere else?

thank you - aurora
