Search Indexer - how to turn it off for good?

New problem...

I don't know if this is a left over from Office 2007's removal or not, but
I'm using Process Explorer from Sysinternals, and noticed Microsoft Windows
SearchIndexer (searchindexer.exe) running.

I checked the Windows Search tool, and it indicates that Indexing has been
disabled.

What's this then? A left over from Office 2007?

It's an extra task loaded up, that occassionally opens 2 similar named
processes, takes up some CPU cycles for 10 minutes or so, then goes back to
idle. I don't need it and would rather be rid of it.

Where do I begin?
