I recently downloaded Office 2000 SP-3
Office 2000 Service Pack 3 was released in October 2002 - and you just
installed it now?
and now when I am in Telemagic (our
database program) and click on the email button, I get the following error:
A program is trying to access email addresses you have stored in Outlook. Do
you want to allow this.
Yep, part of the security update that was released over 5 YEARS AGO.
Apparently you leapfrogged the service packs and skipped installing
Service Pack 2 which actually introduced the security update - and
Service Pack 2 was released back in November 2000 - which is over 7
YEARS AGO.
I have sent an email to the telemagic consultant, but I am thinking this has
something to do with SP-3. Any thoughts, ways to correct this?
You'll need to get the developers of that antiquated application to
update it to support the security model that was introduced 5 YEARS AGO.

Have your developers read:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/262701/en-us
Although if they don't about this by now then either you haven't done
any development on that product in 6 years or it is no longer supported.
If this is not an in-house database program then fork out the money to
upgrade to a later version that does support the e-mail security update
introduced over half a decade ago. Doesn't look promising according to
the first paragraph at
http://www.telemagic.com/. Maybe it is about
time to consider migrating to something else.
