See non working time

Regis

Hi

I'm using ms-project porfessional 2003.

Is is possible to set a non-working time only/resource view. The idea is to
print non working time for resources and use it as a vacation calendar. (Of
course, resources vacation has been set as non-working time)

Thanks

Hi Regis,
The nonworking time for a specific resource can be set as the background of
the Gantt chart or any timescaled view (Resource Usage etc.). Choose Format,
Timescale and click on the nonworking time tab. Select the resource name
from the list.

You may wish to create a filter (or use an existing filter depending upon
view) to filter out all resources except for a specfic resource.

Hope this helps. Let us know how you get along.

Hi Julie

Thanks for your help.

I think that my message is not clear enough related to the problem I try to
resolve.

I have a resources project. All resources have the non-working set to manage
vacation.

My current project use that resources project to share them.

I found 2 problems.
First, I'm not able to see the non-working time for a assigned resources in
the Gant Chart. Worse, the task is not splitted to reflect it. However,
following project 2003 discussion group, I think that PJ2003 cannot do it.

Second, I expected to be able to see using a view or a report, each resource
non-working time exclusively and use that view or report as a calendar to
keep track of vacation. I'm still investigating.

If you have any ideas....

Thanks

Hi,

A macro I publish on my website does not exactly do what you want but it
comes close and may inspire you to write one (that is if you know VB or know
someone who knows)
I fail to see an off the shelf solution

Hi Jan

I had a look on your website but wasn't able to find the macro.

We have a VB programmer whose can help me.

Can you give me more information to find this macro.

Thank you very much.

Regis,

Were you able to get any help with this? If not, I wrote a macro
earlier this year that your VB programmer could modify to suit your
needs. My macro filters the resource pool using a custom filter (not
necessary, but needed for my purposes), exports the Remaining
Availability to Excel, formats the data, and opens an Outlook message
populated with all of the resources' address. I used my report to
validate their out of office time each month. If this sounds like it
may be close to what you want, let me know and I can email it to you
in a Word document.
