Selecting a page

Isn't it an oversight by Microsoft that you can perfrom what seems a complex task of selecting what's in the window - alt+crtl+pagedown - when there seems to be no way of selecting a page. Am I missing something. Have i got to do a macro to do it. Seems an obvious thing to want to do. Can anyone provide an easy solution, please?

Assign a macro containing the following command to the keyboard

ActiveDocument.Bookmarks("\page").Range.Select
