Selecting graphic behind text

I have placed a graphic item in WORD 2000 behind the text (using layout). I
can no longer select it. How do I go about selecting it without moving all
of the text?

Display the Drawing toolbar and click on the Select Objects tool (big white
arrow toward the left end). This allows you to select graphics without
touching the text.
