Self-running ppt - timings

S

sharon

I created a self-running slideshow in PowerPOint 2002.
When I play it in PPT 2000 the timing is really off. Seems
to start out ok and then gets faster until you cannot read
the text on the screen! Help please!!!!!

Timing has never been PP's strong point. A completely self-running
slideshow will run differently not only on different computers but even
on the same computer! It all depends on how the hardware behaves and
what objects PP caches and does not.

In addition, MS changed the way that PP interprets conflicting timing
orders. I've posted explanations (speculations?) on the subject with
and without examples. Search the google.com archive of the PP
newsgroup for more.
