Send and Receive - Operation Failed

For some reason when I do a send and receive I keep
getting a "Operation Failed" pop up message. I can still
send and receive but outlook does it automatically.
Microsoft suggest making a new profile and basically
starting over with outlook. I was wondering if anyone has
run across this and has a better solution. Thanks.
