Send and Recieve on Startup

Hello,

I have OUTLOOK2002 and until recently after I loaded a program called
MailWasherPro, my OUTLOOK would automatically send and receive upon startup.
Now it won't send and receive until I click send/receive.

The Tools>Options>Mail Set Up>Send and Receive>Send immediately when
connected is checked.

The E-mail Account connections setting is Connect using Internet Explorer's
or a Third Party Dialer. I use Road Runner which I assume is a third party
dialer. However I can also check the first option Connect using my local
area network (LAN). Which one should I use?

Can anyone provide me the steps to ensure the OUTLOOK connects and
send/receives e-mail on startup? Thank you.

Just setting an automatic polling interval in Send/Receive groups... forces
a poll on launch.

Russ,

Yes thank you. That was the ticket. The MailWasher program advised I
disable periodic checking and that prevents a check on startup.

Can you help me with the other question:
The E-mail Account connections setting is "Connect using Internet Explorer's
or a Third Party Dialer." I use Road Runner which I assume is a third party
dialer. However I can also check the first option "Connect using my local
area network (LAN)" and things seem to work fine. Which one should I use,
or does it matter?

Thanks

Just depends on your needs. LAN is what most of us use. Use Phone Line if
you want Outlook to actively manage a dial up connection.
