test in the account set up window, I can send but for some reason I can't
receive any other emails. Any suggestions? Thanks. Leanne

Your setup is not correct. The test does not use the mail server so it is
not an accurate test. Don't bother with it. You will need to follow
Comcast's instructions for setup using either their web help pages or by
calling them. ISPs don't have the time to train or support every e-mail
client. They support a common one which is usually Outlook Express. So get
Outlook Express working (with Comcast's help) and then transfer the settings
to Outlook.

"Can't receive" is vague and says nothing, like telling your car shop that
your car "is broke" without further explanation. How do you know that you
have any new mails to receive? Did you use the webmail interface to your
e-mail account to check that you have new mails to receive? If there are
new e-mails pending in your mailbox, how do you know that Outlook even
attempted to connect to your mailbox to get them? Absolutely no errors were
issued by Outlook noting its failure to download those pending new mails?

I have set up Outlook Express and it works fine and have imported evertyhing
to MO. After playing with this a bit I see that if I hit the send/receive
tab in my toolbar I can receive my mail. I recently restored this computer
and ran Microsoft Outlook and it worked fine then. I remember seeing a
receiving message whne I opened it and the mail would pop up. I am sure it
is something I need to select or deselect to automatically receive when I
open MO, I just can't find it.
Presently I am not receiving any kind of errors when I open MO I just get an
hour glass as if it is trying to retrieve the messages but then it goes away
and no messages. I then can hit send/recieve in the taskbar (as said above)
and I can retrieve them. Thanks a bunch.

Sounds like scheduled polling is not enabled. Go to Tools -> Send and
Receive Settings -> Define Send and Receive Groups. Check that polling is
enabled. Set the number of minutes to 5, or more (any less and it is
possible the current mail poll won't finish by the time the next one starts
which results in getting duplicate messages). Also at this same point,
select the group and edit it to ensure that each account defined is enabled
and also set to Receive and Send.
