send message from shared mailbox

Hi there, I have setup a colleagues mailbox in my account so i can have
access to his email, with all the permissions etc, I have trouble sending an
email from the shared account as him,
ie if he was on vacation and I had to reply to an email on his behalf,
at the moment i get an error message back to my inbox.
Great if anyone could help clarify,
