Send problem with Outlook

L

Lucy Smith

I have two email addresses, one is AOL and the other one
which I have been using in Outlook Express. I have not
used the contact list in Outlook Express. I have just
been checking my email there. I have not put my entire
data base over to Outlook yet.

I can send and receive email in Outlook Express, and I
can receive email in regular Outlook but I can't send
from there. I have checked my account setting in Outlook
and it is correct. When I try to send from Outlook it
immediately comes back saying:

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:
553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed
rcpthosts (#5.7.1)

I need help figuring out the problem. Thanks.

That message usually means your ISP isn't allowing you to send third party
mail through their servers without identifying yourself first. Try going
into the properties for your e-mail account and setting up authentication on
your Outgoing Server tab. If you need help finding that tab, you'll need to
post your Outlook version (which is always a good idea when posting a
request for help).
