Send to OneNote printer driver won't install

WinXP SP2, Office 2003 SP2, OneNote 2007, we started with the trial
version, removed it, installed the full version, everything was great.
At some point late last week, Send to OneNote printer driver
disappeared. It worked, and then it didn't. We have tried pretty much
everything, repair, remove, reinstall, we even reinstalled the trial
version to see if it would work, removed it all again, rebooted in
between everything, checked the registry, reinstalled, made sure all
the options were set to "run from my computer", reinstalled Adobe in
case the adobe printer driver was interfering, all to no avail.

The Send to OneNote local printer port is still there but can't be
configured... and no tips found for which printer/driver to select to
install a new printer on that port.

Anyone have any info on this beyond the older posts that don't help?

My friend is having the same problem with his Onenote Printer showing
as a choice from Add new printer option, but not being able to
configure it so it looks for a driver, and the path to the driver is
located in the spools dirctory but there is nothing there. I am also
looking for a solution for his OneNote problem. Note: He is using
Windows Vista Premium and not Windows Xp Pro xp2.

Cheers.
