sending mail help

I checked my settings for my tools send and recieve and
it doesn't seeem to have a problem. When I send a
message it sits in my outbox for 4-5 hours before it gets
sent. Any ideas of what I can do to speed up the
process. I do have Norton on my computer and it does come
up to show it is scanning do you think that is causing
any of the problems? I don't know much about computers
so layman terms in fixing the problem would be helpful.

Have you tried disabling Norton and see if this resolves your problem? If
this is the case run Live Update from within Norton. Run it a couple of
times until no updates are available anymore. Reboot in between when
prompted.
