Sending/Receiving Email

Tara E. True

Each time, from my home computer, I want to send email
or check to see if I have new email's, I have to hit the
send/receive icon on my toolbar. This is nutzo, isn't
it??? The outlook I have at my work automatically
detects when I have a new message and it adds it to my
inbox and alerts me that I have a new message. It also
automatically sends out an email when I hit the smaller
Send icon.

How do I change my home computer to automatically do
these things. So I no longer have to hit that
Send/Receive button on my toolbar?????

Please help.

What version of outlook are you using at home? There should be some
settings that you can change to fix this.
In Outlook 2002, to fix the "auto-send" when "hitting the smaller send
icon"...click Tools/Options.../Mail Setup tab/ check "Send immediately when
connected"/Apply. To receive messages without having to hit the
send/receive button...you can set Outlook to automaticly send/receive every
few minutes by going into Tools/Options.../Mail Setup tab/Send/Receive
button/check "Schedule an automatic send/receive every" *how ever long you
like*, BUT in order for the auto send/receive to work, you have to have
outlook running.

Good Luck
