Sending reminder emails to people in meetings

I want to be able to send standard emails to people automatically with whom
I've made an appoinment in Outlook.

For example, let's say I booked someone in a month in advance of their
appointment and added them to the calendar in Outlook (or on my synched Palm
Pilot). I'd want Outlook to send them a reminder a week before, and 48 hours
before the appointment.

Ideally, this would be an Outlook add-in, but any software which could read
the calendar information from Outlook would be fine.

What I don't want to have to do is use a separate piece of software which
records appointments separately, and I have to enter details twice.

Is there any such software?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Thank you for your suggestion, but this just emails a reminder to me, not
those signed up for a meeting.

Thank you for your answer. This reminds you to send an email to someone who
has not responded to one you have sent them. It does not remind someone of an
appointment/booking you have made with them.

This add-in will allow you to set reminders on appointments as well and have
it automatically mailed to the person(s) you have an appointment with;

I believe it also supports appointment functionality; not just replies.
You can install a trial version to see if you are able to achieve what you
want with it.

I'll try this. Any other suggestions are still welcome.
