sending Word attachments

Some recipients of my attachments are unable to open a simple Word
document, and some are. I click the "send windows friendly
attachments". It is happening more and more frequently. Any
suggestions?

attachments". It is happening more and more frequently. Any
suggestions?

Are they saving them to their hard drive first? Often the problem is
with the recipient's email client/antivirus/permissions (or lack
thereof).

If they can't read the saved file, you can try zipping the file first -
I've had a number of clients whose email servers appeared to mangle
Office document attachments.
