seperating one cell content into 2

hi!

i have a column in the format 'description [part#]' now is
it possible that i can seperate them in 2 different
columns, one with description and other having part #.
(the part # is in square bracket in every cell).

Have a look at data>text to columns

You can select the column, go to Data > Text to Columns
and choose "Delimited". Insert "[" (no quotes) as your
delimiter in the "Other" box.

After doing the text to columns you can then do Edit>Replace, replace ], with "leave blank", to get rid of the ending bracket
