Sequential numbering of single page

Is there a way of giving a single page document sequential numbers when
multiple copies are printed off ?

I can't find a way of doing it from >Insert > Field

We have a form that has to be filled in by hand and then signed, that the
page numbers are getting to a high number and it is a pain writing them in
by hand.

I don't mind having to set a 're-start from' number.

TIA

Thank you.
Alas I'm not permitted to run macros on that machine but I have done mail
merges OK so will use that.
(I think it's about time the company revised its macro policy - I will try
to persuade them.)

They cannot prevent you from creating a macro.

And how would they stop you doing that?

Well, you might be able to do it in an open document, but if you can't open
the document again after you close it...
