After furious head scratching, Rob Schneider asked:
| If your objective is to not install Excel on the client machine, this
| approach will work. However, you won't save much money and your cost
| will surely be higher (added terminal servicer license costs plus
| probably added support costs installing/maintaining the more-complex
| terminal server ... cost depends on your scale) and you still need
| Excel
| licenses.
|
| If you objective is to save money, consider products other than Excel.
| There are a number of products out there that will co-exist with Excel
| and assuming your files are relatively simple shouldn't have any major
| problems. If complex Excel file, well, it is possible these other
| products haven't yet found all the compatibility issues. Do some
| experimenting. Start with OpenOffice (
www.openoffice.org). Others
| can
| be found.
|
| Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.
