Server error when renaming folder or file

Using asp, i am displaying a list of hyperlinks to word
documents located on my web. The user clicks on the link
to open the specified word document.

I ran into a problem when i attempted to rename the folder
where these docs reside. "SERVER ERROR
Document "whatever.doc" is currently in use."

When I attempt to modify or delete the specified file, I
receive the same message. The only way I can modify the
folder name or even the specified file is to stop IIS and
make my change.

Is this a FP server extension problem? IIS problem?

Has anyone else experienced this? Any solution?
