Service for Enterprise Data Management in Project Server 2007 ?

Hi all !

Got a quick question for all gurus out there.
I'm currently finishing out the design phase for an implementation of Office
Project Server 2007 for my client.
Initially, we were supposed to deploy on the 2003 version...during the
system requirement specification, the need to load business resource data
came up.
With the 2003 version in mind, I suggested the use of the EDM PDS service
using a file drop every night, to initially load and then maintain the
resource data.

Now that the deployment has to be done on the 2007 version, I was wondering
if such a thing as the EDM service still existed and if not, if it was
replaced by something equivalent ?
I couldn't find any relevant information on the web for such a need.

Thanks !!

Jeremy

I forgot to mention that the requirement is based on the use of a global
flat file (believe me I cried) generated from the many different HR systems
across the company BUs.

Certainly it could be done with using the PSI. Alternatively it maybe easier
to pass the details into AD from the flat file and then use PS AD Sync.

Right on !

I was hoping that there still existed an automated process like the EDM
service in 2007, that would have save me the burden of having to have a
programmer rewrite the synchronisation process of loading the data.
I wish I could use the PS AD Sync functionality, but the company does not
want to have an additional AD in their system.

Ah well, I guess it'll have to be PSI then :)

Thanks a lot for your insight !
