In case the above link does not work:

Thank you Diane. I did the following from the link you suggested:

"Without uninstalling anything, insert the Office installer DVD and run installer. It should now update successfully."

I was then able to install SP1 (12.1.0)

Lame

Glad the suggestion worked and thanks for the feedback. Now if everyone's
problem was that easy to solve. :)

I am really disgusted. After installing Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac
Service Pack 1 (12.1.0) the printer HP Deskjet 930C does not print either in
Word nor in PDF...
Does anybody know why???????.
Thanks

I haven't seen any reports of problems with printers after installing SP1.
Did you restart and run Repair Permissions?

Using Repair Permissions after installing MS Office or any application that
uses an installer is often advised. To use Repair Permissions:
1. Open Disk Utility in your Applications/Utility folder.
2. Click on the First Aid tab and select Repair Permissions
3. Click on the icon for your boot volume.
4. Click the repair permissions button.

Don't run from CD. Updates contain a newer versions of the application's
permissions.

Same as Diane, I haven't seen any printer-related issues with the 12.1
update - but there have been quite a few perpetrated by OS X. It's possible
that certain aspects of printing are being addressed by either the OS or the
functionality Word is requesting, but most likely is the former...

Have you visited the HP site to see if there is a driver update available? I
seem to recall having seen some HP concerns of the same type recently, and
that model # sticks in my mind for some reason.

Just for future reference it's also a good idea to mention your specific OS
version - especially when the problem involves services (like printing)
which are actually provided by the OS & simply called by the program.

Also, if the suggestions made fail to resolve the problem please give a more
detailed description of what happens when you try - "does not print" leaves
the door open for all kinds of possibilities, each of which might call for a
different approach.

One other thing - although your issue is 'generally' related to the mixed
bag of content in this overworked thread it involves a totally separate &
distinct subject. You'd be far better off posting as a new message & stating
all particulars rather than posting as a reply to an unrelated message.

Because HP does not really support Mac OSX Leopard
