set up landscape & portrait page layouts within a file

When I change the page layout (landscape to portrait) for a page, ALL the
pages in the file take on the change...how do I set up pages so they don't
lose their layout?

You need to rearrange the way you're thinking. Instead of mixing the
orientation, rotate the pages that you want landscape. :)
