Setting default search engine in Outlook

C

Celticson

In my last reply, I did apologize for what appears to be bad. It is not a
bad attitude, it is frustration and no one seems to know what is wrong.

Now...I went into the Registgry and deleted ALL references to Yahoo. Now,
when I click on the Search Icon, I get an error message that I have not set a
preference to Search in the ;World Wide Web Search'.

Thanks.

Outlook uses the default search engine in Internet Explorer. In
IE, click the Search button, click the Customize button on the
Search toolbar, and choose your default search engine. When I
tried this in my copy of IE6, Google was not one of the available
choices, so you might have to manually edit your registry as follows:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main]
"Search Page"="http://www.google.com"
"Search Bar"="http://www.google.com/ie"

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\SearchURL]
""="http://www.google.com/keyword/%s"

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search]
"SearchAssistant"="http://www.google.com/ie"

I have already done this. And I checked again, and Google/Froogle is my
default Search, but, alas, not in Microsoft Outlook. When I click on the
Search icon in Outlook, I get the error message: "You do not have a World
Wide Search page registered on you computer". Ugh!
