Setting Table Default

Michael Rogovin

Can table properties defaults (such as splitting a row
between pages, borders, shading) be altered so that all
new tables created in any document will be preformatted
the way I like? Similarly for other default settings not
in Tools/Options or in Normal.dot.

Hi Michael

What version of Word? In Word 2002 you can set up your own Table Styles
(table autoformat types) and make one of these the default. They work quite
well for some features, less so for others.

In Word 97 (can't remember about 2000, but I think it's the same) the only
options are either to use an AutoText table, or a macro to insert the table
and do the formatting.
