Setting Track Changes for ONLY a Section of a Document

Does anyone know how I can set Track Changes within only
certain sections of a protected document? I have a table
within a legal document that I need to allow users to
select from a drop-down menu within a protected table
without the Track Changes impacting the table, but I do
want the users to have the ability to change language
within the document with track changes enabled so I can
see what they have changed.

Hi Baxter

Sorry, you can't tell Word to track changes for part of a document, and not
track changes for another part.
