Setting up transitions for specific text within individual slides

I'm trying to set up transitions for specific sections of text within
individual PowerPoint (XP) slides, but I don't know how. For example, if I
have a bulleted list of 6 items but only want to them pop up 1 @ a time, how
do I do that without having to make 6 separate slides? Please email me @
(e-mail address removed).

Right-click on the text box and choose Custom Animation. In PowerPoing
lingo, you want an "animation," not a "transition." Sorry, no one will
email you. This group doesn't work that way.

David,

Thanks for your prompt and accurate reply - that's exactly what I needed.
The email address was simply an additional way of contacting me, even though
I was keeping an eye on my posting. Once again, thanks.

I'm glad it worked for you. I remember "the old days" when many postings
went to newsgroups with a line like "email me responses and I'll
summarize to the group." This prevented 50 people saying the same thing
to the whole group, and if the original poster did summarize, the answer
was made clear in a brief summary of responses. This practice seems to be
fading, and the general practice of this group is that no one emails
responses at all. When someone answers a question, we just hope that the
questioner posts back with a "thank you."

Then - thank you (quickly).
