Setup installation File runs

Randy

I recently installed Office 2007. I had no probelms until a few days ago.
Suddenly, everytime I try to open Word, Excel, Outlook, etc., the Office
setup installation begins. I can cancel it, but then the installer opens. I
have to cancel it and then the program will open. I used the Office repair
but it did not work. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hey Randy (and Nancy and several others).

Like you I have had the same problem - and finally I have solved it.
By working two or three nigths making every body in my neighborghood crazy,
I find out, that some settings (mine was Office XP) was still left in the
registry and in some folders on the computer, even after cleaning with Office
CleanUp.
So, - here is was I did.
1. Removing Office by "Remove programs"
2. Taking over ownership of all folders in "/Program Data", its the
"/Document and settings" in XP (I'm running Viste home Premium - and is not
that satisfied).
3. Taking over ownership of the complete "Windows" folder. There will be
some files left not allowing that - but it dosn't seems to matter.
4. Running Office CleanUp.
5. Manually cleaning every folder seeking with "*/office*"
6. Cleaning The registry (I used two different registry cleaners a couple of
times each).
7. Manually cleaning the the registry by seeking "Microsoft Office" -
"Microsoft Word" and "Winword" (it seems to be Word making the difficulty).

Then I did it all over again - just being safe - reinstalled Office 2003 -
and - I don't know what went wrong - but it worked.

Now I'm up.

Hopefully You get on too.
