This is rubbish. When you make your email client default then it should launch automatically no matter from where you click to send a doc. Also, you can choose and make default an external non Microsoft email client from within the IE6. Tools/Internet Options/Programs.

I use non Microsoft products wherever possible which requires no activation.
I use Netscape 7.2 as my default browser which has everything I need for my work.
