Shape messages

I have a visio drawing with hyperlinks set up to navigate between pages. When
you hover over the hyperlink the description shows in a small frame (might be
two or three words only). I would like to use that principle further. What I
would like to do is create something where, when you hover over a hyperlink,
or it could be just hovering over a shape, more information is displayed like
in a callout. I haven't used the callout or annotation stencil shapes at all
so do not understand how they work. Can you offer some advice please.

select the shape, then menu Insert -> Shape Screen Tip

(doesn't work when there is a hyperlink to display though, hyperlink display takes
precedence.)
