Shapes Don't Appear on Drawing

In an existing drawing that I have used for over a year, shapes that I add to
it will not display. For example: The drawing has shapes for a "Tower PC"
shape on the drawing and I need to change it to a "Generic Terminal" shape.
I open the Stencil for the shape I want to use and drag it to the desktop.
The green points for the box and the yellow control point shows up but no
shape appears. You can resize the box that is supposed to display the shape
and move the control for the shape, but there is no shape there. If I get
another shape from the same stencil, such as a IMAC, it appears just as it
should.

What have I done wrong to keep shapes from appearing in the drawing?

Check if your layers are in a visible state (Display=>Layers)
