share/sync work outlook w/ home outlook HELP!

The problem is simple. I NEED to be able to get into my outlook I use at
work AND be able to use all the folders and the functions, by accessing it
with my home computer. Much the way I can access all of my mail functions
through Activesync on my iPhone. It would be great if I could use the iPhone
for calendaring also but everybody knows it has issues with outlook, plus it
doesn't work when you need to see 4 different people's calendars to
coordinate. please help.

work computer - using microsoft exchange server 2003 with outlook 2003 for
corporate email, calendaring, etc.(exchange add/domain ex.-mail.XXXX.org)

home computer - laptop using win xp w/ outlook 2007

I have read every article. I have tried every setting, every option. vpn,
"leave a copy on the server", copying pst files, etc. We do have access to
OWA but it does NOT help my particular job with scheduling multiple people as
noted above.

Do I need to go into control panel in home comp and configure my exchange
account as such in outlook 2007 instead of a pop3(seems like I already tried
that...)
WHY IS THERE NOT AN EASY WAY TO DO THIS?
If anyone knows of ANY solution I would greatly appreciate it.

You cannot access your exchange account directly from home. You need to
speak to your company IT dept about setting up a VPN. (Virtual Private
Network).
That is the ONLY way you can access your Exchange account at home (AFAIK).
You can use Outlook Web Access but that has limited functionality AFAIK...

RPC over HTTP (Outlook Anywhere) is also an option to access your Exchange
email without a VPN.
But the solution remains the same; the corporate admins must make this
available to you and the settings for it are unique per company. We cannot
help you with those, you'll have to talk to your IT department for that.
