Shared Notebooks and USB Drives

Hi,

We have a setup at work where we have a network drive hosting a OneNote
notebook for a development team to access and edit. I would like to be able
to find a way to take that notebook home on a USB drive, make changes, then
have those changes automatically sync when I return to work. I tried this
previously by copying the notebook from the network drive to the USB stick,
but this resulted in some lost data when we copied the changed notebook from
the USB back to the network drive (of course).

My question, how might I set this up so that I can easily take notebooks
home for edit using a USB stick? I also considered using SyncToy to sync the
cache files onto the USB drive, but have not actually tried this and have a
sneaking suspicion that this won't work anyway.

Help is appreciated.

thanks,

robbie

You won't be able to do this. OneNote synchronization does not offer
this kind of support, and every other approach is file-level only (which
you discovered leads to problems).
Your best bet is to figure out a way to get access to the notebook on
the hosted drive via a VPN e.g. Or if you have a laptop, you can synch
the notebook to that.
