Sharing Resource Calendars Among Projects

S

Shiela

I have MS Project 2000. I have multiple projects with the same peopel and I
want
to share the calendars. Is there a way to do this? I know there is the
Tools->Organize calendars, but that does not show the resource calendars.

Thanks.

Hi,

There are two ways to approach this.

The most logical one to me seems to not only share the calendars, but simply
share the resources (Look for help on resource sharing) by using a resource
pool; that way you also have a view on their consolidated work.

The alternative is to define for each resource a base calendar through
Tools, Change Working time, new, and then in Resource View, in the column
base calendar, select that one. All updates and specifics have to go into
the base calendar: the resoruce calendar will automatically inherit them.
And the base calendars do appear in Organizer.
