shortcut to publisher template

how can I make a shortcut to publisher so it opens with a template loaded

Right-click the template, create shortcut, put the shortcut on the desktop.

My suggestion to you was wrong. I created a shortcut, that didn't work, I
created a template and saved it to the desktop, that didn't work either. I
assumed this would work, I was wrong. It is obvious Publisher has some built-in
code that makes templates accessible only through the template folder.

Only solution I found was to record a macro to open publisher then the
template I want and put a short cut to the macro on my desktop, it works but
would rather do it the other way. thank you anyway Mary
